Student Profile- Daria Mohammad

Hi! My name is Daria and this is a post about me!
I’m 20 year old and I was born in Warsaw. My mum is Polish and my dad is from Syria (Aleppo). To be honest I’ve never been there but I hope that one day it will change and I will learn more about my roots.
I’m a very positive and outgoing person. Shyness? Not at all. I can handle myself in almost every situation, because I’m very determined and dedicated to what I’m currently doing. I love participating in creative and interesting projects, that’s why I’m so satisfied with Kozminski University because this school gives me many opportunities to develope myself and experience something new.

For example:

Additionally, thanks to Kozminski University I met my best friends: Ala and Kasia. We are doing so much amazing things together and we are very involved in student’s life at KU. Currently we are attending a dance cource, which is also provided by KU.

I love to travel so in the past I tried to develop my international profile by spending as much time as possible abroad. Just after high school I decided to study in Germany at the European University Viadrina. That one gap year enabled me to acquire a relevant life-experience and establish great international friendships. I used this opportunity to visit many European cities and learn more about myself for example by working in Berlin or participating in some workhops provided by the university. Therefore after one year I decided to come back to my beloved Warsaw and start my study from the beginning at KU.

My affinity to exploring different cultures and being in international environment is one of the reasons why at Kozminski Univeristy I’m also a member of ESN. We are organizing great events for our exchange students hence don’t hesistate and join us!

I’m also into fashion. I like to know what is currently trending and how those trends evolve every season. I follow fashion blogs, websites and sometimes I watch catwalk shows. But the most interesting aspect for me is street fashion. I enjoy observing people’s outfits and get inspired by them. Therefore I run the fashion category for kozminski’s instagram, which you can check out here:  https://instagram.com/kozminskiuniversity/

Besides this I really like latin dances and latin music. When I was younger I was in some dancing groups and I was developing my dance skills. Now it’s only a hobby but I like to listen to reaggeton music and try to understand those spanish words, which is also connected with this that I’m into spanish culture and society. Next year I’m going to Madrid for my exchange so I hope it would be another wonderfulexperience for me!

The most exciting thing I’ve done so far was parasailing with my sister in Greece. It gave us so much adrenaline and fun, that I would like to repeat it one day and I recommend everyone to try this!
